PARK AFTER DARK

Once again we invite families and friends to join us in celebrating our distinctive Sonoran Desert after dark. This year it’s all about our exhibit Night Moves: Images After Dark and what happens on the grounds once the sun goes down. It may be coyotes traveling through, lightning streaking the dark monsoon sky, hawk moths searching out night-blooming flowers, or the celestial bodies beloved of astronomers; all explored in a variety of media. Come and meet the artists from Night Moves and Encaustics: Visions in Wax, chat with local wildlife experts and make a connection with their bats, bobcats, bugs, snakes and owls. The Park’s very own Desert Players offer up their latest “Monsoon Mischief” performance for the delight of children of all ages and before the evening is over, take time for light supper snacks catered by the Tea Room (fee), make a set of Monsoon Mischief boxes, become a desert critter with face painting, sample ice cream treats from Blue Bell Creameries and other snacks or simply enjoy the desert night!
