Roving with Rickie

Meet the Park’s newest honorary Docent (Rickie the horse, a registered Spanish Barb) as he takes up his duties as a roving Docent! Come and stroll the grounds with Rickie and his favorite human, Maureen Kirk-Detberner. Learn the colorful history of these Arizona State Heritage horses and the role they played in shaping the Southwest. Free with admission.
Fridays| Continuing Through October 25 | 10 a.m. | at the Overlook
Children and adults will get to learn all about our scaly, slithery and shelled friends—and they really are our friends!—while getting the chance to see, and for the brave, touch, the live reptiles that our experts bring each week. Also, you’ll get the answer to that age old question: “Why do lizards do push-ups?” Free with admission.
Butterflies of Tohono Chul

During this tour nature lovers, shutterbugs and bug lovers will get an in-depth glimpse of some of the most engaging creatures in the Sonoran Desert, butterflies! Free with admission.

Traveling avian ambassador Sueño and her human, Kathie Schroeder, are back this fall to share secrets in the lives of the Southwest’s amazing Harris’ hawks. Free with admission.
