Mark your calendar and plan to attend Tohono Chul’s spring plant sale this year, featuring the mint family genus Agastache, also known as giant hyssop. Of course, Tohono Chul will present the usual rogues’ gallery of native and drought-adapted plants, many of them available nowhere else. Come and see the largest selection of Penstemons anywhere in the Southwest, as well as an impressive assortment of cacti, shrubs, wildflowers, trees, herbs, vines and groundcovers.

Help celebrate 25 years of connecting nature, art and culture at Tohono Chul Park by purchasing tickets for the chance to win the “Birds of Tohono Chul Park” quilt. Tohono Chul Park volunteers, docents and staff members have collaborated to stitch this stunning piece depicting 14 local birds. This work of art will is on display at La Entrada, the garden museum shop at the Park’s entrance (a no fee area). Raffle tickets are on sale now ($5 each or five for $20). The lucky winner will be announced on May 20 at the opening reception for the Tohono Chul Park A-to-Z exhibit, 5:30-7:30 pm. Winner need not be present to win!
Tohono Chul Park will host its annual major fundraising event with a silver twist. The Silver Spring Celebration, slated for March 28, 2010, marks the 25th anniversary year of Tohono Chul Park and promises to be a festive and distinctive “garden party.”
