Bloom Night is May - August 2009

Peniocereus greggii, the Sonoran Desert’s only native Night-blooming Cereus, looks like a dead stick most of the year, but on the one night its flowers bloom, it turns the Park into a magical place. Tohono Chul Park has the largest collection of these flowers in the world. Volunteers will line paths with luminarias to light the way to plants with gorgeous, waxy, white blossoms that glow in the dark. Guided tours will be available for visitors, showing off the Queen of the Night in all its glory. Tohono Chul Park will be open for free until midnight beginning at 6pm. Cool refreshments, a variety of night-blooming plants and souvenirs will be available.

Flashlights and closed-toe shoes are highly recommended.
